Sara Roizen is an artist and licensed board-certified Art Therapist. She received a BFA in Painting from the Rhode Island School of Design and a Masters in Art Therapy from Pratt Institute.
Sara’s approach as an artist has always centered around the creative process as a form of self-exploration and connecting with others. She works spontaneously and intuitively in the studio in a form of dialogue between her experiences and the materials.
Sara finds that this method of artistic expression parallels the way that she works with her art therapy clients. The therapeutic process requires an open mind and a high level of empathy, rooted in a deep trust in the creative process.
Sara works in a variety of mediums, including acrylic and mixed media, collage, watercolor, drawing, wood burning, and utilizing alternative surfaces such as vinyl records.
